I’ve been in communication with SitePoint, a large web development company based in Melbourne, Victoria. Up until now I had been looking for a place to work whilst keeping on top of my PHP development in Australia. SitePoint have offered me a temporary trial period of 2 months upon arrival in Melbourne. The intention is that if they don’t hate me after those 2 months, we’ll begin proceedings to secure a more permanent/senior position in the company.

This change of plan does mean that I need to postpone my plans to travel until after my two month trial with SitePoint is complete. I can live with that though :) My Greyhound Coach Ticket is valid for longer than this period so I don’t lose out financially neither.

I’m over the moon really; working for SitePoint is the perfect job for me. They approach web development with the same ideas and methodologies I choose to use myself. It’s tough to find web development companies these days who put quality, maintainability and strength of code as their focus.
